I made this Faravahar relief as a reminder of care, kindness, and the choices we make every day. For me, this piece is a way to help people feel connected to historic symbolism, family memory, and meaningful ideas carried across generations. The winged figure and Persian inscriptions give the artwork added detail and character, a piece that can draw people in, start a conversation, and remind us to move through life with care.

I carve this relief from solid hard maple, a strong wood that gives the piece a clean and lasting feel. The detailed CNC carving takes multiple hours, and after carving, I hand-sand the surface and edges so the piece feels smooth and finished. I also add small hand-detailing touches, then use laser work to bring out the wings, central figure, and Persian inscriptions.

The piece is finished with shellac to protect the maple for years while still keeping the natural wood grain visible. The back is ready for hanging, making it easy to place on an office wall, in an entryway, living room, study, or to give as a thoughtful housewarming gift.

The Persian inscriptions add visual detail and meaning to the piece, along with wording connected to character, care, and thoughtful living. The 11" x 11" x 0.7" size gives the writing, wings, and central figure enough space to read clearly and feel balanced as a larger carved wall piece.
