I wanted this Persepolis Guard relief to feel calm rather than aggressive. The figure’s still posture, spear, and detailed profile give the piece a sense of discipline, protection, and ancient memory. It was made for someone who feels connected to Persian heritage, values quiet strength, or wants a meaningful piece that represents loyalty, responsibility, and standing steady.

Persepolis guards are among the most recognizable figures in Achaemenid art. Shown in profile with a spear and formal posture, this figure represents order, protection, and duty without needing to look forceful.

The piece starts as solid beech wood and is CNC-carved to shape the guard’s profile, spear, robe, beard, and layered details. After carving, I hand-sand the surface and edges, then add laser detail to sharpen the smaller lines in the clothing and facial features. A shellac finish gives the wood a warm natural tone and helps protect the surface.
