This piece is inspired by the Persepolis Royal Audience scene, often connected with King Darius and Achaemenid palace art. It shows a king sitting in a formal palace setting while another figure approaches with respect. This is one of the most recognizable royal scenes from Persepolis, carved originally as part of ancient Persian palace reliefs. For someone who loves ancient Persian history, this carving can feel like a small piece of that world brought into wood, something meaningful to own and keep close.
I carve each piece from solid beech wood, then hand-sand it and add laser detail to bring out the king, figures, throne, and palace lines. The wood is finished with shellac to help protect the surface and keep the natural grain visible.
This 7" x 7" x 0.5" wall art can stand alone or be paired with other Persian history pieces from my shop to build a small connected collection.
