The Lamassu is an ancient Assyrian guardian figure, shown with a human head, a winged bull’s body, and a steady forward stance. It has long been connected with strength, protection, awareness, and the idea of guarding an important threshold.

I carve each relief from solid beech wood using CNC, then hand-sand the surface and edges for a clean finished feel. The laser detailing brings out the wings, face, beard, body lines, and small carved details. I finish the piece with shellac to give the wood a warm natural tone and help protect the surface.

This 7" x 7" x 0.5" carved wood wall art can be displayed in an entryway, home office, bookshelf, desk area, hallway, or personal corner. It works well for someone who connects with Assyrian art, ancient symbols, guardian figures, or meaningful heritage pieces.
