This Lamassu relief was created for someone who feels drawn to ancient guardian symbols and the quiet strength they carry. It is for a person who wants a piece that feels protective, rooted, and meaningful near the spaces they care about most.
The Lamassu is an ancient Assyrian guardian figure, often shown with a human head, a winged bull’s body, and a strong forward stance. It has long represented protection, watchfulness, strength, and the idea of guarding an important threshold. To me, it feels like a symbol of standing steady while watching over what matters.
Each relief is carved from solid beech wood using precision CNC carving. After carving, I hand-sand the piece, add laser detailing to bring out the wings, facial features, and body lines, and finish it with shellac to give the wood a warm natural tone while helping protect the surface.
This 7" x 7" wood relief can be displayed near an entryway, in an office, on a bookshelf, in a desk area, or in a personal corner where meaningful objects are kept. Its guardian meaning makes it especially fitting for a doorway, work space, or place where you want a reminder of strength and protection.
Personalization is available on the back of the piece. Text only. You can add a name, date, short message, family note, milestone, memorial message, or personal dedication to make the piece more meaningful as a gift or keepsake.
Please see the Font Options image and enter your personalization text exactly as you would like it engraved on the back of the art piece.
