The Feathered Serpent is an old symbol that people still notice today. I made this carved wood wall art to connect with Mesoamerican history, Mexican art, and old stories. It is a piece that can make a room feel more personal and give people something interesting to talk about.
Quetzalcoatl is often called the Feathered Serpent. It is one of the important figures in Mesoamerican stories. I like this symbol because it brings two ideas together: the serpent, which feels close to the earth, and the feathers, which suggest movement and flight. That mix gives the piece a strong feeling of motion, life, and historic character.
I carve each piece from solid beech wood using CNC to create the main shape and raised 3D depth. After carving, I hand sand the surface and edges, then use laser detail to bring out the scales, feathers, face, and patterns. I finish the wood with shellac to help protect it while keeping the natural grain visible. This 7" x 7" x 0.5" carved wood wall art can sit on a bookshelf, desk area, entryway, home office, hallway, or personal space. I use the same square frame style across my wall art pieces, so this design can stand alone or be paired with other symbols from my shop as part of a collected set.
Personalization is available on the back of the piece. Text only. Add a name, date, short message, family note, milestone, memorial message, or meaningful phrase.
Please see the Font Options image and enter your personalization text exactly as you would like it engraved on the back.
